When I was seven years old, I was diagnosed with brain cancer. My faith in GOD helped me to be brave during my cancer. Reading funny stories and watching comedy shows was a welcomed distraction from my cancer. This is one reason I always loved reading Dr. Seuss. One of my favorite books growing up was Green Eggs and Ham. I also enjoyed writing poems for my friends and family. That’s why I got excited when my teacher gave me the assignment to write a poem about anything I wanted when I was thirteen years old. I took inspiration from Dr. Seuss books and wrote my own whimsical poem. When I showed it to my parents, they told me it should be published as a children’s book. After years of researching publishing companies, I’m ecstatic to finally present My Funny Day at the Zoo. I hope you enjoy!
